]]> On October 14, Simon&Co. sent a comment letter, signed by a broad coalition of advocates for access to health care, to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on Utah’s “Primary Care Network” 1115 extension application, requesting that the state restore NEMT, a mandatory benefit, for the entire adult expansion population and refuting the state’s argument that omitting the NEMT benefit is necessary because of its cost. In fact, NEMT is the lowest cost Medicaid benefit that returns the investment many times over in better quality of life and health status for Medicaid dialysis and behavioral health patients.
